Q. I am receiving treatment from my GP will complementary affect it?
A. Complementary therapies are safe to use alongside orthodox treatment, it may be necessary in some cases for the therapist to contact your GP to confirm that the treatment carried out will be beneficial.
Q. Will I feel a benefit straight away?
A. You may feel slight benefit straight away such as relaxation, Complementary Therapies are more beneficial when a course of treatments are followed. For more information about the range of treatments see our information page.
Q. Are there any Contra-indications?
A. With Aromatherapy there are some essential oils that cannot be used with certain conditions however the therapist will know this from your medical history and knowledge of the essential oils.
Q. I have received Complementary Therapies before and actually felt worse before I felt better is this normal?
A. Yes this is sometimes known as the healing crisis not everybody experiences it. The healing crisis is literally your body getting rid of toxins, imbalances and impurities it is actually a sign that the treatment is work .
Q. What if I don't like the aroma of the oils?
A. Once the therapist has mixed the oils they will ask you if you like the aroma, if you don't, just tell the therapist who will happily mix another selection.
Q. What if I don't feel comfortable during the massage or like a certain area massaged?
A. Let the therapist know and they will either stop or find out what causing the discomfort and move onto a different area.
Q. Do I have to take all my clothes off?
A. It depends on what areas you are having massaged, for a full body you will be asked to undress down to your underwear, your privacy will be respected at all times and you will be covered by towels and only the area being worked on will be exposed. For treatments such as waxing you may be asked to remove trousers for a leg or bikini wax or your top for underarm waxing. Your modesty will be covered at all times.
Q. What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?
A. Please call as soon as possible and let them know you can't make it and reschedule for another time more convenient for you. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 24hrs prior will incur a 50% Charge.
Failure to turn up to an appointment will incur a £35 charge.
If you are late to an appointment the time will not be added on at the end.
If you are over 15mins late then the therapist will assume you do not want the appointment, therefore the “failure to show charge” of £35 will stand.
Q. I am receiving another complementary therapy is this a problem?
A. This shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't have more than one on the same day it's usually nice to have a few days break between different treatments though. If you are receiving Bowen Technique your therapist should have told you that there is a time limit on treatments.
